Nigerian Dancer in Basel
We’re delighted to welcome Olamide Olawale from the Leap of Dance Academy in Lagos. She will be joining our Pre-Professional Program as part of a cultural exchange.
Olamide Olawale Ajoke is a Nigerian ballet and contemporary dancer, choreographer, and teaching artist whose work is defined by discipline, emotional depth, and artistic excellence. Trained at the Leap of Dance Academy in Lagos, she is an internationally recognized, award-winning dancer, including a Gold Medal at the 2024 World Ballet Grand Prix Norway (Contemporary Solo) and Ballet Beyond Borders. Her training and performance experience spans Europe and Africa, with programs in Italy, Spain, the UK, Ghana, Mali, and South Africa. An emerging choreographer and dedicated mentor, she directed and produced Whisper of the Past and is deeply committed to dance education.
As she gets used to Basel’s climate and culture, we are seeking support with housing, warm clothing, and other essentials to help her feel at home. Your generosity will ensure she can focus fully on her training and exchange experience.
